Those Were The Days.

I founded Those Were The Days and opened our first vintage boutique back in 2011. We’re an independently owned, family run business set in the heart of Edinburgh's bohemian St. Stephen Street in Stockbridge. With my passion and knowledge for women’s and men’s vintage fashions we’ve become a “go to source” for fashion lovers all over the world.  Our expertly curated, hand selected and internationally sourced women’s and men’s vintage clothing, jewellery, accessories and vintage bridal wear represent the best of over 100 years of fashion history.  

In 2017 I expanded the business and opened two new boutiques right next door to each other on St Stephen Street! Our new vintage fashion boutique” Those Were The Days Vintage and ‘Those Were The Days Bridal’ Scotland’s first, and currently only, specialist and dedicated vintage bridal wear boutique.

Collections and collectables.

Our stylish and rare collections of  women's and men's vintage fashion, jewellery and accessories date from the 1920s through to the 1990s. All of the pieces in our collections have been chosen by us, on our in-person buying trips, firstly because we love them, and because they’re iconic pieces of fashion history. They have also been chosen because they represent the best of an era’s design, style and high quality craftsmanship.

From high end designers such as Leonard, Courreges, Pierre Cardin, Dior, Thiery Mugler and Yves Saint Laurent, to the iconic labels of Jean Muir, Mary Quant, Ossie Clark, Biba and Bus Stop, to the vintage lables of the High Street and bespoke made vintage pieces, our curated collections allow our customers to blend both sustainable vintage pieces with contemporary and high fashion style.

All items are carefully cleaned and expertly restored before being added to our collections.

Shopping in store and online.

Visit our beautiful store in Edinburgh where our carefully curated collections are merchandised by style and colour, so that shopping with us is a fun and easy experience. And to keep things exciting we add new pieces to our collections weekly, and new collections are introduced seasonally.

Styling, media and more.

Our outstanding discoveries regularly appear in editorial photoshoots, and are worn by celebrities and influencers.  We also regularly work with fashion stylists and costume designers for editorial, film and television projects, with items appearing on the big and small screen.  Our collections are also regularly used as inspirational sources for international fashion designers and brands.
