Photoshoot Secrets & Vintage Styling Tips:  House of Gods Hotel in Edinburgh is one of the city’s, coolest and most stylish hotels.  It is an acute clash of styles, broken rules and a balance of opposites, where beige is blasphemy and more is more.  This hotel is built to immerse you in a world of unapologetic extravagance.  And this makes it the perfect place for a rock star wedding party! We therefore knew it was the perfect location to collaborate with for our dark and edgy ‘Vice & Virtue’ themed Bridal Shoot.

The story behind this shoot is all about an edgy fashion conscious rock star bride who has had her ceremony somewhere in the City and has come back to stay at the hotel to party hard & celebrate in true rock n roll style.

Our bride’s style is unapologetically her.  She’s unconventional and will wear whatever she wants whether that’s a gold cocktail dress, a sequin trouser suit, or a black tulle confection.  She’s the epitome of the wild rock star bride enjoying the hotel’s decadent ‘treat me like I’m fu*king famous’ package.

This shoot allowed us to work with some of our favourite creative collaborators, @melodyjoyco and @nicola.tonner and to run wild with our ideas.  The shoot styling was edgy and alternative and we chose bridal looks ranging from a fabulous 1980s Gold lame dress, to an 80s short wedding dress to a classic 90s slip style wedding dress and 90s sequin trouser suit, as well as a black tulle dress, a 90s 2-piece bridal look and a bohemian 1970s wedding dress.  Nicola’s make up designs are fashion forward and inspiring and push the traditional bridal make up boundaries. And Melody’s photography captures the dark style and fun and wild antics of this fashion forward and party loving bride perfectly!

We absolutely love these images and hope they inspire any brides looking for a more edgy alternative and unique look for their big day.  We haven’t shown all the images from the shoot here on this website – but if you’d like to see more and see the other looks we styled, then why not check out the Vice & Virtue shoot images on our bridal website www.thosewerethedaysbridal.com.
