The Story Behind The Shoot:  Sometimes it’s brilliant fun to style a shoot in a really vintage way, and this was the shoot for that approach!

These images are from a really fun shoot we did with make-up artist Bekki Robinson to promote one of her businesses.  We wanted to create a colourful 1960s girl band pop party vibe for the shoot so we looked at fashion references such as Twiggy, Lulu & Sandy Shaw when we were creating all of the looks.

We selected a range of colourful classic 1960s mini dresses and handbags and accessories from our collections and from our archives (including a very rare 1960s green Jean Muir mini dress) and styled them in a really 60s way with white tights and 60s inspired hair and make-up.

And Bekki and photographer Jess Shurte sourced some amazing vintage props for the shoot, just to really help set the sixties scene!

We think the girls look amazing and just like a 60s girl band. And of course, all of these 1960s dresses can easily be worn and styled now in a much more modern way by wearing them with different tights, shoe or boots!

This was a brilliant shoot to be part of and a really fun team to work with, and we love all the images.

If you fancy yourself as a 60s girl why not visit our store at 28 St. Stephen Street in Edinburgh and check out our collection of amazing 1960s dresses!
